1. About HostScout

HostScout.ca publishes independent research, comparisons and educational content about Canadian web hosting, servers, domains, infrastructure, data residency and related technology. HostScout is not a web hosting company, domain registrar, data centre, telecommunications carrier or legal adviser.

2. Informational use only

Content is provided for general informational and comparison purposes. Although reasonable efforts are made to verify company ownership, addresses, ASN and IP records, infrastructure claims, pricing and service information, no representation is made that every item will remain complete, current or error-free.

Visitors are responsible for confirming technical requirements, contract terms, renewal prices, data-location requirements, privacy obligations and service suitability directly with the provider before purchasing.

3. Affiliate links and commercial relationships

Some links are affiliate links. HostScout may earn a commission when a visitor follows an affiliate link and purchases a service. Affiliate relationships do not guarantee a positive review or higher placement. See the Affiliate Disclosure for details.

4. Third-party websites

HostScout links to hosting providers, registrars, government resources and other third-party websites. HostScout does not control those websites and is not responsible for their availability, security, privacy practices, cookies, prices, contracts, representations or content.

5. Pricing, inventory and service claims

Prices and server inventory may change at any time. Promotional pricing may require a longer billing term and may renew at a different rate. A provider may also change data-centre locations, network partners, ownership, hardware or product availability after a HostScout page is published.

6. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, original text, rankings, research summaries, layout and branding published on HostScout.ca are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Provider names, trademarks and logos remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification, commentary and comparison purposes.

7. Acceptable use

You may not intentionally interfere with the site, probe or attack its systems, attempt unauthorized access, automate abusive requests, copy substantial portions of the site for republication, or use HostScout content in a misleading way that suggests sponsorship or endorsement.

8. Email and CASL

If HostScout sends commercial electronic messages, those messages will be sent only with consent or another lawful basis permitted by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation. Messages subject to CASL will identify the sender and provide a working unsubscribe mechanism. Unsubscribe requests will be honoured within the period required by law.

9. Privacy and cookies

Use of the site is also subject to the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

HostScout is provided on an "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, no warranties are made regarding uninterrupted access, provider performance, uptime, security, legal compliance, business suitability or the accuracy of third-party claims.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, HostScout and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or business losses arising from reliance on site content, a hosting-provider decision, an external website, service downtime, pricing changes, data loss or third-party conduct.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when HostScout adds new features, changes service providers, updates legal practices or modifies site functionality. The date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are published.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Any dispute will be subject to the courts with jurisdiction in Ontario, except where applicable consumer or privacy law requires otherwise.
